If you took SweeTARTS, shaped them into fruits and gave them a thick, glossy, sweet shell, you’d have Runts, named presumably, for their diminutive size. You may have seen Runts in the 25-cent candy dispensers, where their sweet shapes and shiny, brightly colored coatings attract the eye. Runts are hard enough to last a while in the mouth, if you resist the urge to crunch them — yet they’re not so hard that you can’t crunch them, if you wish. If you do bite into them, you’ll find that their powdery, tartly sweet center is much like a SweeTART. Runts come with an assortment of five fruity shapes and flavors: green apple, strawberry, grape, orange and banana.
